Tuition Assistance Available

Limited tuition assistance is available through the KARL M. COLLYER MEMORIAL FUND to be distributed annually primarily on a financial need basis.

Application deadline is May 15, 2023. Applications will be considered in the order they are received and will be accepted until the first day of class. Choices are not guaranteed.

Program Tuition

  • Members per student for Session 1 two week session – $362.50
  • Non  members per student for Session 1 two week session – $412.50
  • Members per student  for each Sessions 2 & 3 two week session – $400.00
  • Non members per student for Sessions 2 & 3 each two week session -$ 450.00
  •  Session 4 – 1 week session – $250.00 ( Students must complete one of the 2 week sessions in 2023 to enroll in session 4)
  • Tuition Assistance is available.
  • No Refunds.

Lunch Program

Sailors can pack their lunch, and eat with our sailing instructors or at MattRec depending on which program the sailor has signed up for. The morning sailor will be walked to Center School to attend MATTREC Afternoon Seahorse Explorers Program and the afternoon sailor will be picked up at MATTREC Seahorse Explorers Program and be walked to MattSail . The cost for transportation to Seahorse Explorers Program is $50.00 for each 2 week session.

Parents MUST REGISTER for MATTREC Afternoon Seahorse Explorers SEPARATELY.

Program Notes

  • Classes will be tailored to fit the needs of the students enrolled.
  • Students will be grouped based upon their sailing ability.
  • Morning weather usually offers lighter winds and calmer seas more suitable for beginner sailors.

Note: Students must pass a basic swimming test on the first day of class.

Morning Program

8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Ages: 6 – 10

Session 1: July 3 – July 14, 2023 (No lesson on July 4th)
Session 2: July 17 – July 28, 2023
Session 3: July 31- August 11, 2023
Session 4 (1 week):  August 14 – August 18, 2023  (Only available to students who have completed a two week session in 2023)

Students are introduced to the basic sailing concepts while building their confidence on the water. They will be placed in groups based on their skill level. Games, crafts, and science will be incorporated into this program to ensure a fun learning environment. Extended care is available through MattRec. (See above.)

Afternoon Program

12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
Ages: 11 – 15

Session 1: July 3 – July 14, 2023 (No lesson on July 4th)
Session 2: July 17 – July 28, 2023
Session 3: July 31- August 11, 2023
Session 4 (1 week):  August 14 – August 18, 2023  (Only available to students who have completed a two week session in 2023)

The Afternoon Program is for our more experienced sailors who are looking to increase their boat knowledge and boat handling skills in a fun, relaxing environment. Students will be broken up by skill level. Sailors participating in this group will have the opportunity to sail in small groups, with an instructor, or alone accompanied by a safety boat.
